What is Barcode, How it work for products?

A barcode is a square or rectangular image consisting of a series of parallel black lines and white spaces of varying widths that can be read by a scanner (PoS System).

Barcodes are applied to products as a means of quick identification. They are used in retail stores as part of the purchase process, in warehouses to track inventory, and on invoices to assist in accounting, among many other uses.

A barcode does not have any information about product or the price. You will need to provide your barcode number and product information to the stores that will be selling your products so they can manually enter the information into their database.

The store is the one responsible for storing bar-code information along with the product price in their point of sale (PoS) system database.
